In the UK, Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) has become an integral part of the school curriculum. Growing concerns have arisen when teachings contrasts with Islamic values. This campaign initiated by Islam21c intends to address the concerns surrounding the teaching of LGBTQ+, the normalisation of premarital relations, and the acceptance of same-sex relationships.
To ensure that Islamic values and principles are preserved and respected in the UK school curriculum, particularly concerning Relationship and Sex Education, while promoting dialogue and understanding between communities.
The Problem: RSE teachings in schools sometimes clash with Islamic values, potentially causing confusion among young Muslim students and concerns from parents about what their children are being taught.
The Solution: Promote open dialogue between school authorities, parents, and stakeholders to create a balanced RSE curriculum that respects diverse values.
Develop guidelines and resources that provide alternative perspectives grounded in Islamic teachings.
